An independent, ad-free leftist magazine of critical essays, poetry, fiction, and art.
Pao Ching-ming is an 18-year-old Filipino doing eunuchism, autistry and other things in Quezon City. Sometimes, he writes at pao-chingming.neocities.org, but most of the time he just tweets @baojingming. Currently, he is trying to organize more with the national-democratic movement against imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism. One time, he sent Joma Sison 200-plus questions “for a quick interview”; Joma’s response was to propose they write his biography together.
In “Bushnell,” Filipino poet Pao Ching-ming reshapes Langston Hughes’s “Lenin” to memorialize Aaron Bushnell’s martyrdom for Palestine. We’re thrilled to publish his poem in both English and the original Tagálog.
